Pupil Premium Funding 2020-2021

Introduction

At Linden Lodge School our vision is for all sensory-impaired learners to access, engage and achieve. Our pupils face numerous challenges which impact on their attendance, access and outcomes. The curriculum is specially designed to enable sensory-impaired pupils to gain access and through personalised programmes achieve the knowledge, skills and approaches that will equip them for adult lives.

The Pupil Premium 2020-2021 funding priorities ensure the best support is in place for maximising progress for the most vulnerable learners in addition to our core provision. As a school, we have the responsibility to use this funding to ‘narrow the gap’ for this specific cohort of learners. This is core to our inclusive ethos where we believe that every pupil deserves a personalised offer to enable them to reach their potential through ambitious and specialist teaching and learning opportunities.  

Which gap are we narrowing?

Linden Lodge School wants to ensure the gap being narrowed is supporting learners in meeting the aspirational aims identified in the Education Health and Care Plans for each learner.

The aspirational goals are identified in each learners ‘Personal Learning Goals Map’ and are working towards narrowing gaps in the areas of:

  • Communication 
  • VI Accessibility 
  • Literacy and Maths 

The Pupil Premium Funding will be used in different ways for different cohorts of learners depending on the individual priorities that have been identified. This is to build on the impact of the previous academic year.

What are we investing in for narrowing this gap?

  • Increased specialist support staff for specific classes with a high % of pupils who qualify for pupil premium funding. This will be targeted to classroom-based interventions. 
  • Targeted support for parental engagement where the priorities will lead to narrowing of the gap through specific training and focused support.
  • Additional resources for class groups with a high % of pupils who qualify for pupil premium funding.
  • Specialist interventions and therapy sessions.
  • Specialists’ technologies and resources to support VI accessibility.  

 

Monitoring progress:

  • Throughout the term through the Leadership Team monitoring & evaluation process.
  • Through the termly pupil progress meetings, data analysis and case studies.
  • Through monitoring the allocated budget and funding.
  • Through reporting to school governance and Southfields Academy Trustees.
